Scot McKnight is an American New Testament scholar, historian of early Christianity, theologian, speaker, author and blogger who has written widely on the historical Jesus, early Christianity, the emerging church and missional church movements, spiritual formation and Christian living. He is currently Professor of New Testament at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Scot McKnight )〕 McKnight is an ordained Anglican with anabaptist leanings, and has also written frequently on issues in modern anabaptism. ==Childhood and education== McKnight was born in Illinois and raised in Freeport, Illinois. He earned his B.A. degree from Grand Rapids Baptist College (now known as Cornerstone University), an M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in 1986, where he studied under James D.G. Dunn, famous for his work on the new perspective on Paul.
